Human Communication

Course Description

This course is a broad approach to oral communication skills including intrapersonal, interpersonal, small group, and public speaking.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the components and models of the communication processes and explain how the communication discipline is studied from multiple perspectives
  • Assess your own communication skills in interpersonal, professional, and mediated relationships and settings
  • Develop and practice strategies for improvement in various workplace settings such as team building, leadership, and task management
  • Articulate characteristics of mediated and non-mediated messages by using critical thinking to determine the influences of these messages on senders and receivers
