Career Discovery

Assignment

By the end of this semester, you will create a digital document (Adobe Creative Cloud Express webpage, Canva webpage, or stand-alone website) highlighting your research into your chosen profession. This is an opportunity to showcase your creativity while diving deeper into a career field or topic that interests you. Your presentation should reflect the outline you developed earlier in the course.
The primary goal of this project is to help you:

  • Discover valuable information about your chosen career field, including the skills, qualifications, and industry trends necessary to succeed.
  • Identify actionable next steps in your career journey, such as additional education, certifications, or internships.
  • Build connections in your field by reaching out to professionals and learning directly from their experiences
  • Develop a plan for the remainder of your educational journey to align with your career goals.

Final Project Components

  • Embedded Videos
    • Include at least two videos that enhance your topic.
    • These can be original videos, clips from interviews, or curated content from credible sources (e.g., YouTube, TED Talks, or professional organizations).
    • Videos should provide insight or information directly related to your research topic.
  • Graphics
    • Include at least two visual elements such as charts, graphs, infographics, or diagrams.
    • These should support your topic by presenting data, comparisons, or trends. Tools like Canva or Excel can be used to create your own graphics if needed.
  • Interview
    • Conduct and include an interview with a professional in your chosen career field.
    • The interview should address at least 5 – 7 key questions related to the career field.
    • Interviews can be conducted via email, phone, video call, or in person. Use this as an opportunity to network and learn directly from someone in the field.
    • The interview can take one of the following forms:
